Thomas Swenarton

Thomas E. Swenarton, 53, of Pahoa, died Sept. 11, 2019, at home. Born Nov. 10, 1965 in Waterford, Connecticut, he was a scientist, research vessel and charter boat captain, scientific diver, member of the Western Pacific Fishery Management Council Advisory Panel and mechanic.

He is survived by sisters, Julie (Kevin) Lynch of East Hampton, Connecticut, Amy Swenarton of Lyme, Connecticut, Mary (Bob) Chapman of South Windham, Lora (Tim) Murphy of Waterford, Connecticut; brother John (Robin) Swenarton of Stonington, Connecticut; hanai brother Mano Kealoha; numerous nephews and nieces.

Shaunna-Ann Pereira

Shaunna-Ann Evalani Pereira, 51, of Hilo, died Feb. 10, 2020, at Hale Ho’ola Hamakua. Born March 13, 1968, in Honolulu, she was a child care provider.

She is survived by brother, George (Twinkle) Pereira; sisters Margaret Pereira of South Carolina, Jodi (Vanessa) Pereira; nephews, Christopher Boteilho, Cody Pereira; niece, Kela Tate Pereira.

Phillip Haae

Phillip Haae, 81 of Nanakuli, Oahu, died Jan. 27, 2020, at Pali Momi Medical Center. Born in South Kona, he retired as a supervisor for Chevron.

Patrocino Camarillo

Patrocino Oyangoren Camarillo, 87, of Kealakekua, died Jan. 17, 2020 at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 25, 1932, in Koloa, Kauai, he was a retired fire captain for the Honolulu Fire Department, member of the Pearl City Lions Club, a Realtor, a scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 75, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. March 4 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Pearl City, Oahu, for a 9 a.m. Mass. Family requests aloha attire.

He is survived by wife, Betty Jane Camarillo of Kealakekua; sons, Ramon (Kamaka) Camarillo of Kealakekua, Michael (Elisabeth) Camarillo of North Hollywood, CA, and Jesse Lopaka (Luzcille) Gregorio of Waipio, Oahu; daughters, Patricia (Peter) Milone of Virginia, and Julie Camarillo (Joseph Cootey) of Waimea; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Chaeani-Raye Mauga-Akana

Chaeani-Raye Kealaonaonaokamalani Mauga-Akana, 24, of Big Island, died Feb. 10, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 30, 1995, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ernest Pacheco, 81, of Hilo, died Feb. 9, 2020 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Nov. 7, 1938, in Hilo, he was a retired operations coordinator supervisor for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran and member of the U.S. Army Reserve Go For Broke Association and Saint Joseph Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. March 4 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may again call from 9 a.m. March 5 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
